Donna Cannone

Donna Cannone

Donna Cannone started when Giorgia Carteri, Tilda Nilke Nordlund (both ex Thundermother) and their
friend and bass player Luca D’Andria got together to jam on a few ideas in the beginning of 2019.
Björn Strid (Soilwork’s and Night Flight Orchestra’s frontman) soon joined the gang, intrigued by their
enthusiasm and the possibility to express himself as a lead guitarist.
The songs started pouring in from all sides and, after a few months, a five-song demo was created.
A few weeks later, the demo ended up in the hands of the Swedish label Despotz Records and a deal was
made to bring the band’s music to as many fans as possible.
The band booked studio time at the renowned Solna Sound Recording in Stockholm in mid-2020 to record
their first single “Cross the line” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1O56XVgO-5o, released digitally on
Spotify and as a video on the 25th of September 2020) and then proceeded to record the rest of their first
album during spring of 2021.
“Nothing to do” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M0XYFWuys3Q ), the band’s second single and video,
was released on the 13th of August 2021 while the band was engaged in putting the finishing touches to the
album.
After a few months of “holding back” forced by the pandemic, Donna Cannone launched their eponymous
debut album together with their third single and video “Is it true
(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wy3bdL-rQfI ), featuring Mia Karlsson (Crucified Barbara), on guest
vocals.
The album brings to your ears 10 hooky songs that find their inspiration in the rawness of the early punk and
the melodic side of Rock ‘n’ Roll and is mixed by affirmed Swedish producer Chris Laney
(LaneyLand/Platform Studio) and mastered by the rock legend that is Dan Swanö at Unisound.
